Donations to Liverpool Habitat for Humanity are used as designated by the donor. Undesignated gifts are used where most needed and for administrative expenses for construction costs.
What do volunteers do?
Volunteers are vital to our work. Their labour helps us to keep house costs down so that low income families can afford to buy their HFH house. Volunteers work on building houses or preparing meals for builders. They help with administrative, fundraising and organisational activities. Some work locally in their own neighbourhood, others go abroad for one to three weeks as part of our Global Village programme.

What can companies do to support Habitat for Humanity?
There are many ways your company can support Habitat for Humanity. These include:
- Product donations (gifts in kind)
- Financial support
- Employees becoming Habitat for Humanity volunteers.
- Some of Britain's best-known companies have sent teams of volunteers to help build homes both locally and internationally.

Liverpool Habitat for Humanity has generously been given 2.2 acres of land on Kingsley Road by the Roman Catholic Church and will be building 32 homes with partner families and volunteers over the next 5 years.
LHFH has a comprehensive procedure for selecting families. There are three main criteria for qualification: to have a housing need and already live within the Liverpool City area (that is pay Council
Tax to Liverpool City Council); to be willing to partner with LHFH to put 500 hours of "sweat equity" into building on the project and to have an income between £10 - £30k. Applicants who live, work
or have a strong connection with the Liverpool 8 postcode area will be preferred.
